Biography
Patrice Scott grew up in Central Florida. Attorney Scott decided to pursue and earn a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Legal Studies with a Minor in Criminal Justice. A few years later, Patrice earned a Juris Doctorate from Florida A&M University of Law.
Patrice has several years’ experience working in litigation for Florida based law firms, in areas such as housing and real estate law, foreclosure law representing banks in pursuit of foreclosing on single-family homes, and affordable housing. Additionally, Attorney Scott has worked under one of the largest private sector developers and continues to work with local start-ups and established companies. Attorney Scott gained extensive knowledge in landlord-tenant law, particularly government subsidized properties, during her time as a Legal Fellow under the Equal Justice Works AmeriCorps Program sponsored under the Housing and Urban Development, “HUD” in the Affordable Housing Division. While working as a Legal Fellow, Attorney Scott trained in landlord-tenant law, including the Rental Assistance Demonstration Program, government subsidized programs such as LIHTC, Project Based Section 8, and the processes of funding both for landlords and developers. Attorney Scott continues to represent Developers, Homeowners and Landlords in tackling many Code Enforcement, Landlord-Tenant and Real Estate issues.
